Oh My God! I Totally Love This Song!

I’ll be honest. My love for this song has more to do with the video than the music. But, what a video! Lana Del Rey is fascinating me with her donning of various personae of 20th century woman. Not every video is a winner, though. The one where she is turning in smoke is hilarious. Try watching it without coughing. 

Fake says you? I find what she’s doing way more interesting than the rest of the pop girls and this video is her best by far. I want to be the girl in this video. I love her smoking at the gas pump. I love the weird biker bonfire party. When she sadly gets bent over the pinball machine and her Minnie Mouse bow in the seedy hotel. I love that she didn’t hire hot male models to play the bikers. And how gorgeous is that tire swing footage? Seriously. 

The voiceover is interesting and adds another layer of interest for me, plus it’s hilarious that Taylor Swift is trying the same thing in her latest (Dubstep? Really? I guess she’s dating Skrillex now) video. 

I predicted big things last year for LDR, but all I’ve really seen is interesting work and a lot of haters on the internet (haters gotta hate). If you haven’t checked her out for awhile, take the time and watch this gorgeous video.
