BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS BY RAINER MARIA
So what I should have done yesterday is set this song to wake me up so I wouldn’t have missed a day of blogging. I shall post tomorrow or Sunday to make up for it and get us all back on track. Let’s all breathe a huge sigh of relief.
Rainer Maria were sorta lumped in with Riot Grrrl when they formed and by the time I heard them, they were being called Emo. Labels be damned, I say. They were a great band and if you don’t know them, get some of their music. One of the great things about them is how they changed and grew. And, then sadly, disbanded.
But they left a body of work where each album has a good chunk of it that is special and memorable. I love the crazy-kids-puttin-on-a-show-in-the-barn quality this song has. It can be loud but loud can be so pretty sometimes. And who doesn’t love a his and her vocal attack?
I feel like I dreamed it, but I’m not there now:
