COUGAR TOWN
OK, if you don’t watch this show because of the name, just pretend it’s called something else. Like, Cindy or Jacinda. “Oh,” you’ll think to yourself, “I think Jacinda is on tonight.” or, “Awesome, I can’t wait to get home since I PVR’ed Cindy last night.”
Cougar Town is my favorite network sitcom currently airing. Before you scoff, know that it has nothing to do with older gals dating younger guys. Ok, maybe it’s a little bit about that in the first season’s six or so episodes. Not any more.
In it’s second season (and really about half way through it’s first) this show found it’s footing. Basically, if you like Ms. Courtney Cox (I find her to be one of the most likable TV personalities out there) then you’ll probably like Cougar Town. Imagine if Monica Gellar up and moved to Florida where she had been hiding a son and ex-husband and you’ll pretty much have the premise.
Cox plays Jules, the wine-loving divorced mother who, when she’s not working at her job as a real estate agent, hangs out with her 5 friends (not Rachel, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey). Jules is lovable but flawed. She is needy, insecure and kind of obnoxious.
Once this show’s rhythms and ongoing jokes fell into place, it became very funny. The supporting cast is hilarious. Jules two girlfriends are played by Busy Phillips as Laurie (not-Rachel), Jules’ unabashedly slutty and trashy twentysomething employee/friend and Christa Miller as Ellie (not-Phoebe), Jules mean but hilarious neighbour. In the following two clips you’ll why they are so funny:
The guys are good too. Ellie’s husband, Jules ex husband and her current love interest/across the street neighbor are funny and well rounded characters as is her son Travis. This bit is good too:
If you're not watching this show, then get on it, already. Actually you can't right now unless you're downloading or iTunes-ing because it's off the air for a few weeks while they show the Mathew Perry sitcom in it's place. But, really, if you're watching Modern Family (which if you're not, you should be) then just sit and wait for this to come on and find out why I totally love this show.

It's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I've now taken to mentioning "vagazzling" as much as I can.
