ONE BY U2 AND MARY J BLIGE
So the U2 version was never something I got into and then kinda loathed by the time it was Billy and Alison’s love theme on Melrose Place. Then out of nowhere came this version which isn’t technically a cover since U2 are on it, too. The incomparable Mary J. Blige brings the right amount of pathos, pain, and I guess I’ll just say it: soul. I’m waiting for Mary J. to do a rock record because how amazing would that be?
