Head Over Heels by The Go-Go's
From the opening piano riff (and the awesome 60‘s sounding piano solo in the middle) to the hand-clapping chorus this is pure pop greatness. For the 80‘s, these were pretty loud crunchy guitar sounds too.
The Go-Go’s also took my love of 60’s girl groups and turned it into a love for Women who could rock. So many bands owe them a debt of gratitude both sonically and politically and let’s not even mention how many of us rocked Belinda Carlisle’s dance moves at high school dances (don’t even pretend you didn’t).
Here’s an experiment: Wait til you know its going to be a sunny day the next day. On that morning (or, what the hell, why not today?) play this really loud when you get up. Just try and have a shitty day.
