LUCKY BY MAGNETA LANE
Magneta Lane is one of those bands that I feel should be way
bigger. They’ve been around for ten years and with each release they get better
and better. But, man, did they start off good. When I first heard them, I was
all, “Oh, cool. Lady-fronted Strokes, but they are so much more than that. A couple of the members of this band are doing
a Pop side project called Lolaa that I’m waiting to hear.
This song came on when I was out with headphones on and it
is sofa king good. Magneta Lane have never had such a poppy song, but then the
lyric is a cigarette flick of stiletto-tipped venom. Except that I’ve never
really heard Lexi Valentine (that name tho) sound so sweet while spitting such
femme fatale sorta lyrics. When the wall of sound part kicks in with the new
wave-y synths, it is amazing and I can’t stop hitting repeat.
And when he kissed you, did he love you? Could you see the
light in his eyes?
