This has been a favourite of mine since it floated into my consciousness when a young boy-child sang along to it on the radio in my doctor’s office waiting room. Soon the receptionist was singing along and one other teen girl joined in. “What is this crazy song that has all these different people singing along?” I wondered not knowing then that I was jumping onto the bandwagon of Canada’s latest pop star.

I don’t know what she’s doing now but Avril sure had us all checking her out in 2002. Remember how she felt like everyone’s little sister or something? Such a tomboy and so tough. Later, I saw a video where she was rolling around in lingerie just like a regular pop diva. It was almost like someone packaged that tough-chick rriot girl thing, defanged it and sold it back to the kids. At the time I bet the kids thought she was a breath of fresh air but really she was just the last of the big-selling pop artists.
