REEL AROUND THE FOUNTAIN BY THE SMITHS 

When I was a teenager I discovered The Smiths and it was an amazing meeting of fat kid and band. The Smiths made me feel cooler and more sophisticated just by listening. Morrissey’s lyrics always struck me as more hilarious than depressing but folks my age can debate that one forever. 

This song is off their first album and the lyrics are hilarious yet beautiful and moving. The meandering rhythm and the plaintive vocal make this one of my top 5 favorite The Smiths songs. Enjoy it and if you know the words, please wail along.
