Oh My God! I Totally Love This Song!
ENJOY THE SILENCE BY DEPECHE MODE
I was really into Depeche Mode when I was a teenager. I found their combo of happy synth beats and dark moody lyrics like, really deep. I saw them twice in concert and was impressed both times at what a good show three guys standing behind keyboards and one guy singing could put on. I had all their albums and even bought some vinyl versions that contained many, many remixes.
As the years flew by, my interest waned along with any fondness for any kind of remix, but I would probably put Black Celebration on my Top Ten Albums of All Time List (if asked). This song was on the last DM album that I bought and this was the best thing on it. This is one of those songs you hear everywhere and when I do I usually end up singing the chorus to myself in my best desperate whiny moan which begs the question: Why was everyone in the 80’s so tortured? Was it the backup dancers everywhere? The bad clothes? The worse hair? Who knows?
There was a lot of employment for dancers during the 80’s. Also, if you hate this song, I’m sorry for posting this because it’ll be rattling away in your head like a good little earworm. And, you guys, feelings really are intense.
All I ever wanted, all I ever needed is here in my arms:
Feelings are intense, words are trivial:
