The lead singer of Immaculate Machines, Kathryn Calder, is now a member of The New Pornographers. In an indie rock meets daytime TV twist, Kathryn’s mother, who had been adopted as an infant, met her birth family and one of the members of her birth family was The New Pornographers’ Carl Newman who is Katherine's Uncle.


I dig my family and all, don’t get me wrong, but it would be really exciting to meet long-lost relatives that were cool Rock Stars who invite you into their band and suddenly you’re touring the world and living in Brooklyn and everyone thinks you’re really cool. How fun would that be?
