This merry band of beardos brings some of the most gorgeous mellow music to come along in awhile. It reminds me of sunny mornings in the 70’s with a dash of a groovy commune-loving hippie vibe but still manages to sound totally new. Now on their second album, Fleet Foxes are music you can play at almost any time because they’re family-friendly, kid-friendly, mellow-friend friendly and it looks like the hipsters finally have their own John Denver/early-Olivia Newton John equivalent. Also, a simple song that yearns for the simple life is kinda sorta refreshing and there’s a whole generation or three who could take inspiration from this song’s lyrics. Give it a listen while the sun comes through a window if you can make that happen.
