This song is off a great album and as much I love this one, I’ve never really been into this band since. The Spring I bought this, I lived in a house with 3 roommates (shout outs to John, Kristina and Catherine) and we spent a lot of time on our back porch which overlooked an alley and a gas station. This was one of those houses where there were always a lot of people around and we had some rockin’ parties as well.


As I mature, I miss these kinds of experiences because I know they were of a time and place and can’t be recreated. I could never live with someone, let alone 3 others, anymore and all those friends would blow my control-freak-y mind. But for a couple years in the mid-90’s, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. At that point, that ugly Vancouver Special was the place where I had hung my hat as an adult and I only look back and remember how amazing it was.
