Apparently the band wrote this song for Obama but that’s according to the internet and you can’t believe everything you read there. Whether they’re saying Oh Mama or Obama, this song is really really good. Like, really. I had this album on repeat last year for about a month. The whistling should be annoying as hell a la “Young Folks” but it really isn’t. Like, really.


This sounds like a weird marriage between The Smiths and The Beach Boys, sorta. Every once in awhile I discover a band the day after they’ve been in my city and this was one of those. So they came and played a show and somehow the zeitgeist didn’t let them get to me until after they’d played and gone. Oh, well, maybe next time.
