Oh My God! I Totally Love This Song!

DEAD HONEY BY DIE MANNEQUIN

Singer Care Failure has one of those voices that when you hear it you stop what you’re doing and pay attention. This band has been around for awhile and they deserve any success they get. I read somewhere on the internet (grain of salt) that one of the members of Rush was so impressed with what Care had going on musically that he donated a bunch of instruments and gear to her when she was younger and homeless (house-ally challenged?). Whether or not this is true, I’m gonna believe it because it has an awesome “Cold-Winter-in-Canada-Passing-of-the-Rock-Torch” vibe that I love. This song’s amazing vocal and driving momentum totally rock.

And then there’s the video. This video is well directed, beautifully shot, and completely warped and terrifying. It represents the band well because they take an otherwise pretty good song and twist it up just enough to make it great. If this isn’t in the Canadian Canon of great songs that’s only because Die Mannequin have a better song in them to be released at a later date.

Rough enough I pretend to like it, turn this girl into gold:

It hits right here when it fits right there, it’s no good but the kids don’t care:
