Oh My God! I Totally Love This Song!
BOYS DON’T CRY BY THE CURE
I’d like to say that when I was a teen it was all about The Velvet Underground, The Ramones and something else equally cool, but it was more Depeche Mode, The Smiths and The Cure for me. The other stuff came later during my early twenties but in the 80’s I loved me some moody Brits. This song, actually from the 70’s, was on a Best Of cassette of the Cure that I bought and while I knew the newer stuff, I had no idea. I quickly bought the first couple Cure albums and listened to them a lot.
This second video I found is interesting because I think we’re all so used to seeing The Cure presented a certain way that it’s funny to see them as lads from around the way who happen to be in a band. The first live video is from 20 years after the song came out and the melancholy and maturity they bring to it is almost kinda sad. The Cure were supposed to be so moody and sad when I was a kid but I never really found this to be that true until I watched the second clip.
I try to laugh about it cover it all up with lies:
I would say I'm sorry if I thought that it would change your mind:
