SWEET CHILD O’ MINE BY GUNS N’ ROSES
I hope the chick that this was written about knows how lucky she is. This song is all rough edges and awesome guitar with a chewy, sweet centre. Backinnaday, this was one of the first “metal” songs that came around that you could listen to without being embarrassed.
The album this came off of is another one of those where every song is good and I listened to the shit out of this thing. Honestly, if I had to come up with a top ten list of all time fav albums, this would be somewhere on there.
The guitar solo rocks, the vocal is amazing and the band was recorded loudly and clearly which didn’t really happen a lot until the 90’s. Perhaps, these guys had something to do with it? Unfortunately, by the 90’s these guys were yesterday’s news with their dated rock-star excess and cheesorama image. The overly bloated double albums didn’t help (and yes I agree their are good cuts on both the Illusion albums).
Lucky for whoever makes up Guns N’ Roses, there will always be the Summer of 1988.

I know lots of people are in to Axl but I've always thought he was kinda creepy. Great song though.

So creepy. I mean he could sing, but him running around in the bandana with the white cycling shorts in the early 90's was one of the grossest things, like, ever.
