(Special 100th Post Edition)
LET THE MUSIC PLAY BY SHANNON
In 1983, it had been awhile since there had been a “disco” song on the radio and then along came this awesome stomper. I bet it would still fill a dance floor (at least all you young’ins could laugh at all the post-40 crowd shaking some ancient ass). This song ushered in the Dance Music 80’s (at least to my mainstream 13 year old ears). Play it at your next party when only a couple people are dancing, turn it up and see what happens.
Around this time another single-monickered singer arrived on the scene with her hit, “Holiday.” I’d like to think in a parallel universe, “Holiday” was the one-hit-wonder and Madonna ended up being rolled out to sing her big song at gay pride parades and corporate events and Shannon is still releasing albums and is considered a legend who should never have gotten into acting who also rocks a fake kinda British accent.
He tried pretending a dance is just a dance but I see he’s dancing his way back to me:
I thought it was clear the plan was we would share these feelings just between ourselves:
(The second video is a great example of the old saying, “Black don’t crack.” She looks great. One of the hot producers needs to work something out for Shannon. She deserves to be at least a Two-Hit-Wonder.)
